De Vierdaagse Karavaan gaat weer van start en raadt eens? The 4Days March (or the Walk of the World) caravan is starting next week, and guess what?

Nog 3 nachten slapen en dan klinkt voor de 104e keer het startsignaal voor de Nijmeegse Vierdaagse. En ook Thuy Nguyen blijft lopen. Thuy loopt nu voor de 8e keer de Vierdaagse Sponsorloop voor de stichting Bouwstenen voor Zambia en dus de Linda Blind Farm School in Zambia.

Met onder andere de hulp van alle donateurs die Thuy gesponsord hebben bij de vorige 7 sponsorlopen is in juni 2022 een echte, primary, school geopend in Zambia. En ook met hulp van uw donaties echte boeken voor de kinderen op deze school gekocht (nee, boeken zijn niet vanzelfsprekend op scholen in Zambia).
Het is ongelooflijk maar waar: al meer dan 1100 km heeft Thuy in de benen voor hele kwetsbare kinderen die anders nooit de binnenkant van een school hadden gezien. Door weer en wind, hitte en regen, Thuy loopt altijd goedgemutst door en deelt het verhaal van de kinderen voor de Linda Blind Farm in Zambia met elke deelnemer en toeschouwer die het maar horen wil.

En Thuy gaat door. De Vierdaagse 2023, 4×40 km. Met donaties voor deze sponsorloop van Thuy sparen we voor de bouw van een …. secundary school (een middelbare school). Want na de opening van een echte pre school in 2014 en een echte primary school in 2022, hebben ook deze kinderen de smaak te pakken.
De eerste groep van 25 kinderen komt in 2024 van de primary school af. Echt waar! En..de kinderen willen door. Naar een secundary school. Maar de secundary schools zijn niet toegankelijk voor deze aller kwetsbaarste kinderen. Daarom gaat Stichting Bouwstenen voor Zambia helpen met de bouw van een echte secundary school. Voor kinderen van de Linda Blind Farm School (ook bekend inmiddels onder de naam Xavier Community School). En met de hulp van velen, moet ook dit slagen. Some dreams can’t wait.

The 4Days March (or the Walk of the World) caravan is starting next week, and guess what:

3 more nights of sleep and then the starting signal for the Nijmegen 4Days Walk will be given for the 104th time. And Thuy Nguyen will participate again. 4 days, 40 km a day. Thuy is now walking the 4Days Sponsor Walk for the 8th time to support the Foundation Bouwstenen voor Zambia ( “Bricks for Zambia”) and thus more specifically to support the Linda Blind Farm School in Zambia.

Partly because of her fabulous initiative, among the help of many other, and the help of all the donors who sponsored Thuy in the previous 7 4Days Walks, a real, primary, school has been opened in Zambia in June 2022. And also with the help of your donations real books have been bought for the children at this school (no, books are not taken for granted at schools in Zambia).

It’s incredible but true: Thuy has already walked for over 1100 km for very vulnerable children who otherwise might have never seen the inside of a school. Through wind and weather, heat and rain, Thuy always continues driving forward in good spirits while sharing the story of the children for the Linda Blind Farm in Zambia with every participant and visitor who wants to hear it.

And Thuy continues her initiative! The 2023 Four-Day Walk, 4×40 km. With donations for this Thuy sponsored run, we are saving for the construction of a lower secondary school. Because after the opening of a real pre school in 2014 and a real primary school in 2022, these children also have a taste for it.

The first group of 25 children will graduate from primary school in 2024. Really! And these children want to continue. To a secondary school. But most secondary schools are not fully accessible, or have no places, to these most vulnerable children.

That is why Foundation Bouwstenen voor Zambia will help the school staff, the parents, the local partners and the children of course, with the construction of a real new secondary school. For children of the Linda Blind Farm School (now also known as Xavier Community School). And with the help of many, this too should succeed. Some dreams can’t wait.
