Ruim 8 jaar geleden al weer werd de pre-school geopend. Op 8 augustus 2014 om precies te zijn. In juni dit jaar volgde de indrukwekkende opening van de tweede school: de primary school.

8 jaar geleden werkten we nog met houten balken als ondersteuning van het dak van de pre school. Maar hout doorstaat de tand des tijds niet goed genoeg. Misschien herinnert u zich nog wel posts over de bezoeken van de termieten en ook de termietendokter.

Nu was het de hoogste tijd om de houten ondersteuningsbalk van het dak, op de veranda, te vervangen. Want veiligheid staat voorop en de oude ondersteuningsbalk zag er niet meer goed uit.

Prachtig werk werd geleverd door de aannemer die ook verantwoordelijk is voor de bouw van de primary school en de bouw van het handwash basin: John Muleya van Gig Nidole. Hij heeft weer fantastisch, solide werk geleverd. De houten balk is vervangen door een stalen frame! De termieten zullen er niet blij mee zijn. Maar zij zijn dan ook de enigen :).

On August 8 2014, more than 8 years ago now, their was this first wonderful opening ceremony at the Linda Blind Farm. The opening of the first real school: the pre-school opened. In June this year followed the impressive opening ceremony of the second school: the primary school.

8 years ago we used wooden beams to support the roof of the pre-school. But wood does not stand the test of time well enough. You may remember posts about the visits of the termites and also the termite doctor ;).

Now it was high time to replace the wooden support beam of the roof, on the porch. Because safety is paramount and the old support beam no longer looked good (as being an understatement).

Great work was done by the contractor who is also responsible for the construction of the primary school and the construction of the handwash basin: John Muleya from Gig Nidole. He did another fantastic, solid job. The wooden beam has been replaced with a steel frame! The termites won’t be happy about it. But then again, they are the only ones.
