Happy International Women’s Day! Present this year: the wonderful drawn logo, carried by this incredible women’s team of the Xavier Community School

Internationale Vrouwendag 2023 ook in Livingstone Zambia.  En… dit jaar weer een grootse optocht en… met een echte banner met groots het (nieuwe) logo van de Xavier Community School (Linda Blind Farm School). Wij ontvingen een hele foto-reeks :). En ook dit jaar, als team, in prachtige kledij gehuld.

Apetrots torst het team van de Xavier Community School de zelfgemaakte banner met het nieuwe logo van de Xavier Community School (Linda Blind Farm School). En trots met recht. In amper 9 jaar is de school uitgegroeid van amper 80 leerlingen in een huisje van 4x4m2 naar een echte pre- en primary school met 6 grote klaslokalen, een echte bieb, een computerlab, een lerarenkamer en een headteachersroom. Niet te vergeten de eigen speelplaats met speeltoestellen. Niet alleen heel veel jongens maar zeker ook heel veel meisjes, voor wie zonder de Linda Blind Farm School/Xavier Community School, de schooldeuren altijd gesloten gebleven waren, hebben nu een toekomst. Zij bouwen aan een betere toekomst voor zichzelf, voor hun families, hun community en zelfs hun land. Dat is ook waarom er op de naamplaat van de school met grote letters prijkt: “Education is the most important weapon the change the world” (Nelson Mandela). En dat wordt mogelijk gemaakt door de hulp van heel veel mensen van alle leeftijden, van over de hele wereld en de hulp van bedrijven, organisaties en locale organisaties zoals Dream Livingstone Zambia, the Ministry of Education, de Gemeente Livingstone en de ZAPD die de stichting Bouwstenen voor Zambia en de Linda Blind Farm School al ruim 9 jaar een helpende hand bieden. In welke zin dan ook. En natuurlijk de stichting Wilde Ganzen https://www.wildeganzen.nl/ die, door de samenwerking tussen de Stichting Bouwstenen voor Zambia en de Stichting Wilde Ganzen, uw donaties vermeerdert met 50%. Elke euro is zo 1,50 euro waard.

Kinderen die dat nooit hadden durven dromen, maken nu hun dromen waar. En ze dromen verder. Plannen zijn in voorbereiding voor de bouw van een middelbare school. Want de eerste groep kinderen komt in december 2024 van de primary school. En… ze hebben de smaak te pakken. Ze willen ontzettend graag door!

The International Women’s Day March the 8th in Livingstone Zambia. We received some wonderful pictures :). Check: the incredible team of the Xavier Community School was present too. Of course they were!Please view this wonderful school team that once, in 2012, started with teacher Bridget and assistant to the teacher Elidah. Now the teaching team is already 8 teachers big, including,  yes :), the wonderful teachers from the very beginning teacher Bridget and assistant to the teacher Elidah!!! And of course there is David, who supports the team with janitorial tasks.

This year the team was proudly carrying big banner with the beautiful drawn logo of the Xavier Community School. The banner was made by the school itself!  They reproduced the logo by repainting it and creating a banner out of it.

Women’s power, Girl power, children’s power, future power! Proud as a peacock, the Xavier Community School team towers the homemade banner featuring the new Xavier Community School logo (Linda Blind Farm School). In only the past 9 years, the school has grown from barely 80 students in a 4x4m2 small house into a real pre- and primary school containing 6 large classrooms, a real library, a computer lab, a teachers’ room and a headteachers’ room. Not to mention its own playground with play equipment.
Not only a lot of boys but certainly many girls, for whom schooldoors, without the presence of the Linda Blind Farm School/Xavier Community School, would always have remained closed, now can build a better future. For themselves, their families as their community and even their country. That’s why the school’s nameplate reads in large letters: “Education is the most important weapon to change the world” (Nelson Mandela).

And this is made possible by the help of a lot of people from all ages, throughout the world as from companies and organizations as of course local partners as Dream Livingstone Zambia, the Ministry of Education, the Municipality of Livingstone and the ZAPD who have been lending a helping hand to the Building Blocks for Zambia Foundation and the Linda Blind Farm School for over 9 years.
